Residential design and commercial design are usually thought of as separate disciplines. But in reality, ideas and applications that surface in each of these markets are often re-interpreted and crossover from one to the other. This seminar can help position and grow the designer’s business by placing a strong emphasis on the selling process. This seminar communicates to the design community why it is important to become a sales person first and a designer second. The selling process is the key to repositioning and growing your business. This seminar will give the designer some tools that they can incorporate into their presentations. Some ideas may be things they already do and others will be things they may not have ever thought about. Lighting Controls as a Component of Interior Design, CEU-101317 0.1 CEU Credit Presenters: Patricia Mace & Trip Speight Company: Legrand Lighting controls allow homeowners to control lights, ceiling fans and small appliances from anywhere in the home, without the need for special wiring or expensive master controllers. Lighting controls can be integrated into a home for singleroom or whole house systems. The intent of this course is to discuss the role of lighting in design, and more specifically how lighting controls can impact the olives of occupants and performances of the home, including enhanced energy efficiency. In this course, you will learn how to design healthy and sustainable baths & kitchens, select sustainable residential products, be able to integrate water conservation plumbing products for LEED credits into residential designs and communicate to clients the importance of sustainable buildings. With the growing number of adults needing or wanting to age in their homes the importance of Universal Design is more important than ever. As one ages, the use of the bath changes from a place for pampering to a place of necessity. The use of Universal Design principles and selection of the proper products will allow you to blend the user personal style while accommodating all users’ needs. At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to identify the segment of the population with Aging-in-Place needs; understand the seven principles of Universal Design; choose bathroom fixtures that meet the users’ needs; design a bathroom with proper placement of products in critical use areas. Mastering Presentation in the Workplace –A Skills Workshop Presenter: Jason McNeely, Hansgrohe Presentation skills and public speaking skills are a necessity of work and life. Learn tips for successful interviews, clear and concise communications, and how to write effective presentations. These skills are important to be successful in business, sales, training and building trust with clients. Developing the confidence and capability to give good presentations, speak well, and engage others is extremely helpful for self-development, too. With the information gained in this seminar, some preparation, and practice, you will be an effective communicator, conducting successful client demos and winning sales pitches.
