Course Structure<br />

<strong>USFP</strong> Standard and Intensive <strong>Program</strong> Structure<br />
Step 1. Choose the course/s you wish to study at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Sydney</strong> and from the table below choose the Stream (Area <strong>of</strong> Study)<br />
consistent with the course/s.<br />
Step 2. Identify the Compulsory Core subjects in the chosen Area <strong>of</strong> Study.<br />
Step 3. Choose 1 subject from the list <strong>of</strong> subjects in Group 1. Use the ‘Recommended Electives’ for each undergraduate course <strong>of</strong>fered as<br />
listed on pages 16-19 to help guide your choice.<br />
Step 4. Choose 1, 2 or 3 subjects from the list <strong>of</strong> subjects in Group 2. <strong>The</strong>se subjects are available to students in all Streams.<br />
Step 5. A total <strong>of</strong> 5 subjects (OR 4 subjects plus 2 minors) must be studied. Each subject is studied for 5 hours per week. A minor is a<br />
subject only studied for one semester.<br />
Essential Computing Skills is studied for 10 hours and Study Life Skills is taught in a combination <strong>of</strong> small and large groups. Both are<br />
compulsory subjects.<br />

<strong>USFP</strong> Extended <strong>Program</strong> Structure<br />
Step 1. Choose the course you wish to study at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Sydney</strong> (see pages 16-19) and from the table below choose the Stream<br />
(Area <strong>of</strong> Study) consistent with the course/s.<br />
Step 2. Identify the Compulsory Core subjects.<br />
Step 3. Choose 2 electives from the list <strong>of</strong> possible electives consistent with the course you are interested in studying at university.<br />
<strong>The</strong>se subjects are considered part <strong>of</strong> your final GPA.<br />
Step 4. Study a total <strong>of</strong> 5 subjects.<br />
Step 5. On successful completion <strong>of</strong> the first 19 weeks above choose subjects as outlined for the Standard <strong>Program</strong>.<br />
