I. Background<br />

Cus<strong>to</strong>mer may experience <strong>VS5000</strong> <strong>GUI</strong> <strong>misalignments</strong>, and the application cannot be launched probably, as<br />
shown in the following:<br />

II. Causes of <strong>GUI</strong> <strong>misalignments</strong><br />
The <strong>GUI</strong> <strong>misalignments</strong> were cause by the lack of proper fonts in the PC. Make sure your PC has the<br />
following fonts:<br />
NAQ4EL/CA/JC<br />
SimSun<br />
Microsoft Sans Serif<br />
Arial<br />
WingDings 3<br />
System defaulted fonts<br />
If any of the above fonts were not installed, it may cause <strong>GUI</strong> <strong>misalignments</strong>.<br />

III. <strong>Corrective</strong> Actions:<br />
1. Uninstall the existing <strong>VS5000</strong> software<br />
2. Download and extract the “SimSun.TTF” file from<br />
NAQ4EL/CA/JC<br />
http://www.fontemple.com/downloads.php , or<br />
Obtain the .zip file from Rigol Service and Support, and save it <strong>to</strong> C:\temp (recommended).<br />
3. Open “Control Panel” (in classic view), and pen “Fonts”.<br />

4. Check “File” and select "Install New Font...” .<br />

5. Browse <strong>to</strong> C:\temp, select the font named "SimSun.TTF" or “SimSun & NSimSun(True Type)”. (It<br />
depends on the source of the fonts)<br />
6. Check “OK” <strong>to</strong> install.<br />

7. Once that font is installed, reinstall the <strong>VS5000</strong> software.<br />
8. Launch the <strong>VS5000</strong> Vs5000.exe software, the <strong>VS5000</strong> <strong>GUI</strong> should appear as follow:<br />
Follow the <strong>VS5000</strong> User’s Guide for desired applications.<br />
