BUITEMS Quality & Excellence in Education After a protracted process, the university has succeeded in acquiring the services of about half a dozen faculty members holding PhDs. In addition to such top academicians, the university has also acquired the services of fifteen Assistant Professors and twelve young but energetic lecturers. With such an addition to the galaxy of our faculty, there has been a sizeable increase in the quality and range of academic instructions imparted to the students. 6th Convocation Our quest for academic excellence is furthered on the four fundamental pillars; the students, the faculty, the curricula and on politics-free environment conducive to learning. The university is moving ahead with the resolve that we shall not only follow the standards, but also set new standards of excellence; we have succeeded in putting together curricula which meet the demands of the present age. We have been emphasizing the element of research, both on the part of the teachers and the taught and we are happy to point out that a number pf research papers of our faculty have been published in reputed national and international journals. A research Directorate has been established with the object of developing, expanding and managing BUITEMS research programs and to link research activities directly to the educational, social and economic priorities of the university and the broader community. In the wake of present financial crunch and debilitating dependence of the public sector universities on govt. funding, BUITEMS has worked on exploring new avenues for fund generation. The Directorate of university Advancement and Financial Assistance (UA&FA) has been established with the intention of building and maintaining relationships based on fidelity and integrity to raise funds for BUITEMS advancement. 10
BUITEMS Quality & Excellence in Education The university has expanded the range of program offerings on job market demand. With focus on quality and standards acceptable world-wide, the following demand-based programs of study have been offered at BUITEMS: BS degree in Architecture (5 years degree program) BS degree in Food Technology (4 years degree program) BS degree in Fine Arts (4 years degree program) BS degree in Plants Sciences & Information (4 years degree program) BS degree in Microbiology & Pathology (4 years degree program) The university managed to purchase 4 buses with the object of facilitating the students commuting from different parts of the city and between the campuses. 6th Convocation An international quality Introductory Documentary of BUITEMS has also been prepared. The movie exhibits the university set-up, academic offerings, physical facilities and academic and administrative processes and achievements. The documentary supplemented by commentary serves as a medium to attract potential students and the society at large. The repute of BUITEMS as a premier institution of higher education is constantly spreading and will, inshaAllah, keep on spreading in future, too. 11
