Blanchet’s drama department, led by Kasey
Roberts and Jacob LaCombe, presented four
stellar productions this year. “Each Blanchet
performance is a showcase of student
creativity,” remarked President Charles E. Lee.
“We are so proud of the tremendous talent and
committment these students display as actors,
musicians and crew members,” he added.

“The Music Man”
In June, eighth grader Katherine Carey attended
Blanchet’s popular summer drama camp. “It was
a fun-filled camp that had non-stop activities every
day, making it very fun and unpredictable,” she
said. The camp offers a multitude of activities and
drama games including slideshow, secretary, scenes
from a hat, and creating a final dance and play.

sponsored a performance by the Rainbow Dance
Company. This high-energy program is led
by Darryl Thomas, Associate Professor of
Dance, and Valerie Bergman,
Guest Artist in Dance, at
Western Oregon University.
The group traces the music

African-Americans back to
its roots in African culture.

and the chance for students to participate in
learning dances, songs, body percussion and
drumming.

helped make the drama camp unique with all their
skills and talents. I always looked forward to the
next day of camp because it was very exciting and
fun and made you want to go back for more,” said
Katherine.
