Gaiam is committed to supporting all aspects of LOHAS, both externally in the world and internally in our
workplace. Sustaining our planet, giving back to our environment and providing community assistance is not
just a part of our business—it is our business. We support such organizations as Business for Social Responsibility,
Co-op America, Organic Trade Association, Mothers & Others and Habitat for Humanity. For employees, we offer
flexible work hours, educational scholarships, weekly yoga classes, bus passes, an extensive library and a casual
dress environment. By protecting and respecting our planet, its natural resources and inhabitants, we feel we
enrich our own lives and those of future generations.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL ACTION GROUP
Gaiam’s Environmental and Social Action Group (ESAG) is a grassroots effort of employees who are
committed to environmental improvement within the company and community. ESAG’s five committees focus
on improving the local community; reducing resource use, while increasing our rate of recycling; reducing the
number of commuter trips taken by employees, thus minimizing the carbon dioxide impact on the environment;
and sharing environmental and social information with all employees.
