OPTIONAL SPECIALIZATIONS
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
· Concentrates on courses ranging
from anatomy, physiology,
biomedical instrumentation,
bio-signals and systems, medical
imaging, regulatory standards and
design processes.
ELECTRICAL ENERGY SYSTEMS
ENGINEERING
· Emphasizes control, protection
and reliable operation of power
grids, electromechanical actuators,
electric propulsion, electrical power
systems as well as industrial and
manufacturing processes.
NANOTECHNOLOGY AND
MICROSYSTEMS ENGINEERING
· Focuses on next-generation
electronics where chips integrate
mechanical, fluidic, biological and
optical components, and where
nanometer scale features are
forcing changes in the design of
transistors and other basic circuit
elements.
Electrical Engineering students learn topics including physics, electric circuits,
analog and digital electronics, electric and magnetic fields, communications,
signal processing and controls. Students can take advanced courses related to
systems and controls, nanotechnology and microsystems, biomedical
engineering materials and electromechanics.
WORKING FOR YOU
Highlights of what our talented
Co-op students can do for you
and your organization:
· Analyze, test and debug analog
and digital circuits
· Produce and revise lighting and
instrumentation layout diagrams
using AutoCAD
· Assemble and test DC and
AC circuits
· Program in Assembly, C, and C++
· Create biomedical instruments
to measure and analyze human
body signals
· Conduct risk assessments of
transmission assets
· Develop and integrate embedded
firmware
· Design, implement and verify VHDL
and Verilog based designs
