Fit Gym’s Expansion Celebration
Tom Bazow
Contributing writer
Take one already successful business, add
additional space to it, and the result is Fit
Gym’s “Expansion Celebration.” Fit Gym,
located at 1177 Gravois Road in Fenton, is
going from 6000 square feet of workout
area to over 7300 total square feet. That’s a
lot of machines, equipment, and free space
to conduct the workout you’re looking for!
I spoke to Gary Egan, General Manager,
and asked, why the expansion? “Simple,”
he said. “Now we can
offer a ‘free weight
room’ for the serious
strength trainer. With
this separate area it
doesn’t compete with
the rest of the gym.”
Without a doubt there
are a lot of free weights
available. Aside from
this new expansion I asked Gary what
other attributes does Fit Gym offer?
“We now have 4 personal trainers available
for our clientele.” In fact Gary was
so proud of the experience and professionalism
these trainers offer that he
asked me to mention their names. With
three guys: Igor Tarasyuk, Mick
Kennedy, Jordan Zeke Scott and one
female Melanie Lambert it seems you
can’t go wrong. Together they offer a
vast number of years in the fitness industry so
you can be sure you’ll get the workout that best
suits your needs.
The “official” expansion celebration day is
set for Saturday September 19th. Along with
various vendors showcasing their products
there will also be free give aways to the public.
By stopping in on the 19th you can tour the
facility and get a good feel for what Fit Gym
has to offer. The fact that Fit Gym is open 24
hours and offers four separate restrooms plus three showers you get the sense that this fitness gym
has it all. With a passion for students and educators Gary also offers discounts to the school systems
in the area. “I’m actually a former Athletic Director at Northwest High School, so helping
the athletes from Summit or Northwest is important to me,” Gary said. Now that’s giving back
to the community!
Do yourself a favor and check out Fit Gym’s “Expansion Celebration” on Saturday September
19th. Or just stop in any time and see for yourself the outstanding facility that Fit Gym has to
offer. Check them out on the web at: http://fitgymfenton.com/
Carter, Carolyn Ann of Fenton, Missouri, originally from Bloomfield, Missouri. Entered into
rest on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 3 days. Born Saturday,
December 23, 1950 to the late Dan Wesley and Ruthie Joyce Carter (nee Perry). Mother of Dale
(Cheryda) Carter of Fenton, MO and Richard (Heather) Carter of Caseyville, IL. Sister of Danny
(Eva) Carter of Cape Girardeau, MO, Marilyn (Kenneth) Ritch of Fenton, MO, Terry (Shelia)
Carter of Collinsville, IL, the late Richard and Dennis Carter. Grandmother of Maddi, Kylie,
Breanna and Samantha Carter. Aunt of Teresa, Tammy, Dan Jr; Kenny Jr; Angie, Dana, Mickey,
Joey, the late Terry Jr; Ricky and Chris. Carolyn was born in a Clinic in Bloomfield, MO. She was
baby sister to Danny Carter, Marilyn Ritch, Richard Carter, Terry Carter and Dennis Carter and full
of life from the day she was born. She was the apple of her Daddy’s eye and could do no wrong.
She would get her sister and siblings in trouble all the time. From an early age, She never liked getting
her picture taken and would sabotage a picture every chance she could, but the pictures that
were made became something special. When she was 18, she became ill with tuberculosis and had
to spend six months in a sanatorium. While she was there she graduated high school and her graduation
made it in the paper. She had her first son, Dale Carter when she was 20 years old and her
second when she was 26 years old, Richard Carter. She worked many jobs to support her two boys.
She sold tires, worked in a hat factory, shoe factory, as wedding planner, and accounting at
Wehrenberg Theater. She supported her boys in the things they wanted to do in anyway she could.
She was a den mother for the boy scouts, peace maker, and chaperon. She lived most of her life
with her mother. The two of them went together like Loral and Hardy. They would bicker with each
other like old married people, but no one could break up one of their fights or they would attack
the peace maker like the argument was their fault. She was a great aunt who took care of her nieces
and nephews on the weekends so her sisters and brothers could go out. Everyone of them has fond
memories of staying up late on Saturday nights, eating popcorn and watching creature feature. Her
pride and joy was her granddaughters. She would give every bit of herself to make her granddaughters
happy. She would eat salt and pepper water, fake eggs and bacon, pretend coffee and take care
of great grand Dolls. She taught them how to sing and dance. She choreographed plays, dance routines
and hit songs that her granddaughters would perform. She was always about family and spent
most of her life taking care of others. She worked hard to make others laugh every chance she could
get. It did not matter if it was at home, a family function, at a restaurant, an event in town, in a hospital,
or at Del Mar Gardens. If she saw someone who needed cheering up she would make it her
mission in life to make them smile. She has made such a positive effect on people; she has brought
people here from all over the country to honor her. Carolyn will be deeply missed and fondly
remembered by all that knew and loved her. Visitation at Fieser Funeral Home, Saturday, August
29, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral service: Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations
in Carolyn's Honor to The American Lung Association, www.lung.org/association/states/missouri
is appreciated. As a request from Carolyn and her family the dress code should be casual and
she said "That's all."
