AAdmittedly, the prospect of<br />

working in the public sector isn’t<br />

for everyone, but those who peel<br />

back the layers can find a sweet<br />

core to this type of job.<br />

Thanks to those who have gone before them — evolving<br />

from Civil Air Patrol cadets to public servants — this<br />

year’s cadets selected for CAP’s Civic Leadership<br />

The State Department boasts a fine collection of early American antiques. Here,<br />

At the State Department<br />

Included in a whirlwind of tours for the CLA cadets<br />

was one at the State Department, where David Staples is<br />

a public affairs specialist assigned to the Bureau of Near<br />

Eastern Affairs.<br />
