Garth Snow enters his eighth season as the General Manager of the New York Islanders<br />

in 2013-14. A goaltender with the organization from 2001 to 2006, Snow retired as<br />

a player on July 18, 2006 to become the fifth General Manager in franchise history.<br />

A sixth round selection of the Quebec Nordiques in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, Snow<br />

played twelve seasons in the NHL, including four with the Islanders. He finished his<br />

career with an overall record of 135-147-43 along with a 2.80 goals-against average<br />

and a .900 save percentage over 368 games with the Quebec Nordiques, Philadelphia<br />

Flyers, Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Islanders.<br />

On the International stage, Snow represented Team USA at the 1994 Olympics in<br />

Norway and at the 1998 World Championships in Switzerland.<br />

Snow graduated from the University of Maine in 1993 after playing four years with<br />

the Black Bears. He won a National Championship at Maine in 1993 and was named<br />

to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. He also earned Hockey East Second Team All-Star<br />

honors. Snow led the NCAA in victories for three straight seasons from 1990-1992.<br />

During his tenure at Maine, Snow was also a member of the All-Academic team.<br />

While attending the University of Maine, Snow earned a Master’s Degree in Educational<br />

Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.<br />
