Bonney Park to Lecture, <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Guild</strong><br />

Mrs. Bonney Park, well-known artist of Encinitas,<br />

will be guest lecturer <strong>and</strong> demonstrator for members<br />

of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Dieguito</strong> <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Guild</strong> at the March 13 meeting.<br />

Another very talented local woman, Mrs. C.M.W.<br />

“Torchy” Smith acted as judge for the March show<br />

at the Chateau <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Gallery</strong>. “Torchy” was fulfilling<br />

a previous invitation which was delayed due to a<br />

heavy snow storm which str<strong>and</strong>ed her in the Midwest.<br />

Winners are as follows: Theme of the Month, Life &<br />

Creatures: 1 st - Helen Blumel, Mixed Media; 2 nd – Ann<br />

Knapton, Oil; 3 rd – George Hukar, Oil; HM- Bill<br />

Summers, Batik.<br />

Watercolor: 1 st – Bonney Park; 2 nd , Virginia Clark;<br />

HM Philipa Henschel. Oil: 1 st – Linda Bolognese; 2 nd -<br />

Ann Knapton; 3 rd - George Hukar; HM- Vada Kimble;<br />

HM Marge Lewis.<br />

Mixed Media: 1 st -Bill Summers, Painted Wood;<br />

2 nd - Linda Kerstens, Macrame; 3 rd – Mary Ellen<br />

Watercolor Talk<br />

Mrs. Marven Park, an Encinitas artist, will<br />

discuss watercolor portraiture at a meeting of the<br />

<strong>San</strong> <strong>Dieguito</strong> <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Guild</strong> at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the<br />

Chateau <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Gallery</strong>. 110 15 th St., Del Mar.<br />

Mrs. Park, who serves as secretary of the<br />

guild, studied in Los Angeles <strong>and</strong> Mexico.<br />

Judge for the March show, titled “Life <strong>and</strong><br />

Creatures,” was Mrs. C.M.W. Smith of Carlsbad.<br />

First place winners were Mmes H.G. Blumel, Park,<br />

Salvatore Bolognese, <strong>and</strong> Mr. Bill Summers.<br />
