Bonney Park to Lecture, Art Guild
Mrs. Bonney Park, well-known artist of Encinitas,
will be guest lecturer and demonstrator for members
of San Dieguito Art Guild at the March 13 meeting.
Another very talented local woman, Mrs. C.M.W.
“Torchy” Smith acted as judge for the March show
at the Chateau Art Gallery. “Torchy” was fulfilling
a previous invitation which was delayed due to a
heavy snow storm which stranded her in the Midwest.
Winners are as follows: Theme of the Month, Life &
Creatures: 1 st - Helen Blumel, Mixed Media; 2 nd – Ann
Knapton, Oil; 3 rd – George Hukar, Oil; HM- Bill
Summers, Batik.
Watercolor: 1 st – Bonney Park; 2 nd , Virginia Clark;
HM Philipa Henschel. Oil: 1 st – Linda Bolognese; 2 nd -
Ann Knapton; 3 rd - George Hukar; HM- Vada Kimble;
HM Marge Lewis.
Mixed Media: 1 st -Bill Summers, Painted Wood;
2 nd - Linda Kerstens, Macrame; 3 rd – Mary Ellen
Melton, Sculpture; HM- Helen Blumel, Mixed Media;
HM – Bill Summers, Batik.

‘LIFE AND CREATURES,’ mixed show on a common
theme; Chateau Gallery: Wednesday through
March 31.

Watercolor Talk
Mrs. Marven Park, an Encinitas artist, will
discuss watercolor portraiture at a meeting of the
San Dieguito Art Guild at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the
Chateau Art Gallery. 110 15 th St., Del Mar.
Mrs. Park, who serves as secretary of the
guild, studied in Los Angeles and Mexico.
Judge for the March show, titled “Life and
Creatures,” was Mrs. C.M.W. Smith of Carlsbad.
First place winners were Mmes H.G. Blumel, Park,
Salvatore Bolognese, and Mr. Bill Summers.
