Art Guild Features Weaving
The June meeting of San Dieguito Art Guild will
feature a demonstration of Weaving Techniques
by Barbara CHAPMAN. Members are asked to
meet at the Chateau Art Gallery, 110 15 th St., on
Monday, June 12 th at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Chapman has
been involved with the art of fibers for twelve years,
including stitchery and collage, and has taught her
craft throughout the San Diego school system.
An unusual feature of the June Art Show is that
Southwest Bank in Leucadia has donated $200.00
prize money for the best fifteen entries, to be judged
by Murie Roston, well known artist from Rancho La
Costa. The winners selected are as follows:
OILS: 1 st – Marie Atkins, 2 nd – Linda Bolognese,
3 rd – Jennifer Schulze, HM – George Hukar and
Olivia Vickery.
WATERCOLOR: 1 st – Philipa Henschel, 2 nd – Clara
Fleming, 3 rd – Hammond, HM – Margie Morgan and
Bonney Park.
MIXED MEDIA: 1 st – Cynthia Elman, 2 nd
– Virginia Shaw, 3 rd – Marion Ganet, HM – Dorothe
Reavell and Charles Henschel.
Winners are now on display at the Southwest Bank
of Leucadia.
Weaving Techniques are told (no citation)
SAN DIEGUITO – A demonstration of
weaving techniques will be given at the June meeting
of the San Dieguito Art Guild.
The meeting will be held Monday, June 12, 1:
30 p.m. at the Chateau Art Gallery, 110 15 th St.
Mrs. Barbara Chapman will give the
demonstration.
Winners for the June Art Show are :
(oils) Marie Adkins, first; Linda Bolognese,
second; Fennifer Schulze, third; George Hukar and
Olivia Vickery, honorable mention.
(watercolor) Philpa Henchel, first; Clara
Fleming, second; Elizabeth Hammond, third; Margie
Morgan and Bonney Park, honorable mention.
(mixed media) Cyunthia Elman, first; Virginia
Shaw, second; Marion Ganet, third; Dorothe Reavell
and chas Henschel, honorable mention.
ART APPRECIATION — Bill Putman, presents
check for $200 from Southwest Bank. Mrs. Dee
Wilhelmy, left, president of theSan Dieguito Art
Guild, in support of Guild;s continuing programs.
Looking on is Mrs. Muriel Rosten of Rancho La Costa
nationally renowned artist who judged the Guild’s
recent art show, which will be on display through
Saturday at the leucadia office of Southwest Bank.
Putnam is the preident and manager of the Leucadia
office.
