JUNE MEETING
Monday - June 12th - 1:30 P.M.
“Weaving Techniques” is the title of our June demonstration
by Barbara Chapman, who has been involved
with fibers for the past twelve years. Her first
experience was with stitchery and in this medium she
designed and executed stitched pillows for the decorator
trade in Los Angeles.
More recently her interest has centered on the use
of many materials and techniques to produce a collage
effect, sometimes with ethnic orientation.
Mrs. Chapman has taught her craft in Adult Education,
University of California Extension, and to
children in twenty-two of our San Diego City School.
Her work is exhibited with the San Diego Allied
Craftsmen twice yearly and in galleries throughout the
county.

EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE
The Southwest Bank of Leucadia is donating $200
to be used for cash award for the June Show. Entries
will be judged by Muriel Rostor, a distinguished artist
of Rancho La Costa. To simplify judging and to meet
the request for the bank showing all entries are to be
brought in on regular hanging days.
ENTRY DATES: Tues. May 30 - 12:30-4:30
Wed. May 31 - 12:30-3:00
Judging will be at 3:15 PM on Wednesday, May 31st.
Entry Fee $2.00 - limit three. Each entry to have
artist’s name, title, media, price and phone on back
right hand corner. Media, oils, WC, and mixed media.
There will be a $50 first, $25 second and $10 third
award in each category, plus two HM in each category,
making a total of 15 entries for the bank showing.
Winning entrants will be notified and they must furnish
clean or freshly painted easels on which to place
their entries while on display at the Southwest Bank
in Leucadia.
