SPECIALTY COURSES (C O N T.) MANAGING SAFETY PERFORMANCE IN REFINERIES OSX 995 CEUs: 0.8 Course Length: 1 Day Fee: $225 This course covers safety plans and fi eld auditing of safe work practices in refi neries and introduces the concepts of behavioral based safety and human performance as they relate to incident prevention. This course offers information on the development and execution of safety plans in refi nery project and maintenance work. It also covers how to conduct safety inspections and audit safe work practice performance, how to evaluate and analyze audit and observation data, and techniques for presenting audit fi ndings to management and the workforce. This course also introduces the concepts of behavioral safety programs and employee performance as they relate to the prevention of safety incidents in a refi nery environment. The class discusses how to assess competency in safety and how to coach the worker and supervisor. The course also covers the safety professional’s role in helping to manage injury incidents, from gathering important initial fi eld data to assisting supervisors in communicating appropriate information and complying with OSHA requirements and managing site health and safety records. As part of this course, students will be required to conduct an on-site safety inspection using common inspection criteria and tools to identify potential job hazards. This course will emphasize inspection techniques and skills required to perform constructive and effective jobsite audits such as communication, observation and inter-personal skills. TRAINER COURSES TRAINER COURSE – FALL PROTECTION OSX 995 CEUs: 0.7 Course Length: 1 Day Fee: $225 Recommended Prerequisite: OSHA 3115 This course is designed for individuals interested in training employees that may be exposed to fall hazards. Using OSHA Construction Standards as a guide, this course places special emphasis on CFR 1926.503(a) Requirements for Training and ANSI Z359.2 Minimum Requirements for a Managed Comprehensive Fall Protection Program. Students will participate in workshops that demonstrate the inspection and use of fall protection equipment, training requirements, and development fall protection training programs.
