C I R C U S 63rd Annual Shrine Circus L A R RY B . S E L I G , C I R C U S D I R E C T O R In less than four months, the 63rd edition of the Murat Shrine Circus will once again appear at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. To the delight of children from 6 to 60, the annual Shrine Circus will lead everyone across the borders of reality and into a tinsel and spuncandy world of make believe. The circus cannot become a success unless you become a part of this world of make believe. Run away with us to the circus, at least for a couple of hours. Your support is needed to volunteer your time, attend the performances, and/or sponsor a child to attend. Nine performances are scheduled from February 28 through March 2. On Thursday, February 28, and Friday, February 29, the performances are at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 1, the performances are at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and on Sunday, March 2, the performances are at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Help your Unit and Club by selling Activity Book ads and Corporate Sponsors. Twenty-five percent of all circus ad revenue and Corporate Sponsor revenue is returned to the Unit/Club of the seller. There’s not an easier way to build the treasury of your Unit/Club than to sell these ads. Most Units/Clubs have already received their packets for distribution to previous ad sellers. Now is the time to start getting your ads for your Unit/Club. If you don’t have the “ad forms” or the “corporate sponsor forms,” you may pick them up from the Shrine Office. The deadline for the activity book ads is January 15, 2008. The sooner the ads are received, the better. If you haven’t signed up to volunteer, your help is still needed. Contact Sherri in the Murat Shrine Office and she will be happy to match you up with areas where we need help. Even if you can only help with one performance, please give us a call. Because of work schedules and other commitments, many Shriners are unable to volunteer. If that is your situation, your support buying circus coupons will greatly benefit the thousands of children who attend as a result of generosity such as yours.
