GREENWAYS<br />
AND WALKING initiatives<br />
The Aspire Foundation donated an 8.37-acre<br />
parcel to Montgomery County for use as a<br />
community greenway. Greenways and walking<br />
space help bolster the area’s image as pedestrian<br />
friendly. Aspire purchased the tract of<br />
abandoned railroad bed late last year as part<br />
of the Greenway Master Plan, a comprehensive<br />
strategy to connect existing parks, Austin Peay<br />
State University, Fort Campbell, rural areas, and<br />
neighboring communities.<br />
