Germany<br />
On 11 September 2012, the <strong>AEI</strong><br />
Management held a special discussion<br />
on the possibility of research collaboration<br />
under the <strong>Vol</strong>kswagen-Foundation with a<br />
group from Germany, which comprised<br />
of Professor (R) Dr. Reimund Seidelmann<br />
(former Visiting Professor of <strong>AEI</strong>),<br />
Professor Dr. Christoph Schuck from the<br />
University of Dortmund, Germany (Visiting<br />
Professor of <strong>AEI</strong>), Dr. Almuth Steinbach,<br />
Head of International Team <strong>Vol</strong>kswagen-<br />
Foundation, and Dr. Wolfgang Levermann,<br />
Programme Director <strong>Vol</strong>kswagen-<br />
Foundation. Also in attendance were<br />
Mrs. Zarina Zainol Abidin, Director of the<br />
International and Corporate Relations<br />
(ICR) Office, University of Malaya and her<br />
officer, Ms. Judy Choong Chai Kun.<br />
This preliminary discussion was<br />
intended to explore possible research<br />
areas that could be implemented through a<br />
networking among universities in Germany,<br />
Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia.<br />
