3.2 <strong>Landscape</strong> Design<br />

On completion of the programme, an <strong>MSc</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Landscape</strong> <strong>Architecture</strong> with a specialisation <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>Landscape</strong> Design has acquired the follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> addition to the generic competence profile:<br />

Knowledge about:<br />

How to understand structures and processes <strong>in</strong> the arts of build<strong>in</strong>g and cultivation<br />

based on empiricism and theory.<br />

Describ<strong>in</strong>g and <strong>for</strong>mulat<strong>in</strong>g solutions, strategies, relevant plann<strong>in</strong>g and methods of<br />

analysis <strong>in</strong>to spatial programmes <strong>for</strong> change <strong>in</strong> landscape related use.<br />

Skills to:<br />

Analyse spaces and works as a backdrop <strong>for</strong> movement and <strong>in</strong>tervals, experiences,<br />

memories and recognition. Particular focus is on the trans<strong>for</strong>mation of neglected,<br />

polluted and otherwise damaged rural and urban spaces like coast, harbour and<br />

<strong>in</strong>dustrial areas that needs redevelopment.<br />

Prepare programmes and projects <strong>in</strong> which terra<strong>in</strong>s, constructions, water cycles and<br />

the grow<strong>in</strong>g conditions of plants are given a high priority.<br />

Elucidate, <strong>in</strong>terpret and evaluate the significance and quality of the work, own as well<br />

as others.<br />

Competences to:<br />

Observe and th<strong>in</strong>k spatially, socially and artistically.<br />

Identify landscape-architectural problems such that their design strategies and<br />

solutions build upon critical and methodological analysis and scientific theories.<br />

Communicate and present a critical and reflective view on problems and solutions of<br />

own work as well as other.<br />

Work with landscape architecture.<br />

3.3 Green Space Management<br />

On completion of the programme, an <strong>MSc</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Landscape</strong> <strong>Architecture</strong> with a specialisation <strong>in</strong><br />

Green Space Management has acquired the follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> addition to the generic competence<br />

profile:<br />

Knowledge about:<br />

Relevant theories related to the comb<strong>in</strong>ation of public adm<strong>in</strong>istration and strategic<br />

green space management.<br />

Public, semi-public and private green areas <strong>in</strong> or <strong>in</strong> relation to urban environments <strong>in</strong> a<br />

Danish and an <strong>in</strong>ternational context.<br />

Design and management tools and concepts.<br />

The growth dynamics and <strong>in</strong>teraction of trees and other woody species <strong>in</strong> relation to<br />

site conditions <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g succession processes <strong>in</strong> woodlands.<br />
