About the authors<br />

Dimple Bhatia is an Advisory Software Engineer at the <strong>IBM</strong> Silicon Valley Lab in San<br />

Jose, Cali<strong>for</strong>nia. She is currently the lead on the <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong> web console component of<br />

<strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong>. She is also working on the common web tooling infrastructure <strong>for</strong> all Webbased<br />

tools in the InfoSphere Optim portfolio. Be<strong>for</strong>e joining the InfoSphere Optim tools<br />

team, she worked as the lead on the Federation Catalog, and migration in WebSphere<br />

Federation Server. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse<br />

University, New York.<br />

Vinod Chirayath currently works on Web Services Engine development <strong>for</strong> the<br />

WebSphere Application Server at the Austin Research Labs. Prior to this role, he worked<br />

on the development team that built the administration components <strong>for</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong>. Vinod<br />

was also the technical enablement focal <strong>for</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong> speaking at various technical<br />

conferences and conducting customer POCs <strong>for</strong> Fortune 500 companies. He has coauthored<br />

several articles/publications and has a patent in the database tools area.<br />

Adam Faeth is member of the User Experience team <strong>for</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong> and Optim products.<br />

He holds a master's degree in Human Computer Interaction from Iowa State University.<br />

Praveen Ghantasala is an Advisory Software Engineer <strong>with</strong> <strong>IBM</strong>'s Lenexa, Kansas Lab.<br />

He is a developer in the administration component of <strong>IBM</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong> product group.<br />

Praveen is also the current technical enablement focal <strong>for</strong> <strong>IBM</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong>. Prior to this<br />

role, he worked as a lead developer in <strong>IBM</strong> <strong>DB2</strong> .NET provider, <strong>IBM</strong> <strong>DB2</strong> CLI driver, <strong>IBM</strong><br />

In<strong>for</strong>mix engine (SQL) development, <strong>IBM</strong> In<strong>for</strong>mix Client Software Development Kit<br />

including ODBC, Embedded SQL <strong>for</strong> C, and OLEDB provider. Praveen holds a Master's<br />

degree in Computer Science from India's Andhra University. He also co-authored several<br />

articles.<br />

Hassi Norlen is an in<strong>for</strong>mation developer <strong>with</strong> <strong>IBM</strong>'s Costa Mesa lab. He has worked<br />

extensively <strong>with</strong> database management and monitoring software such as InfoSphere Optim<br />

Per<strong>for</strong>mance Manager, <strong>IBM</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong>, and <strong>IBM</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong> web console. His subject of<br />

expertise is up and running and installation documentation, as well as user interface<br />

development using the progressive disclosure methodology. He started his <strong>IBM</strong> career ten<br />

years ago in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) field, working on <strong>IBM</strong> FileNet P8<br />

Application Engine/Workplace XT and <strong>IBM</strong> Enterprise Records. He holds a Master's<br />

degree in physics and a degree in journalism from Sweden's Uppsala University, and<br />

worked as a science and technology journalist and a science teacher be<strong>for</strong>e joining <strong>IBM</strong>.<br />

Hardik Patel is a Staff Software Engineer at the <strong>IBM</strong> lab in Lenexa, Kansas. He is the<br />

owner of SQL and XQuery editor component of <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong>/InfoSphere Optim products.<br />

He is also responsible <strong>for</strong> SQL Builder, SQL Results view, JDBC Runner and <strong>Data</strong>base<br />

Catalog Filtering. Hardik has worked on the Optim Development <strong>Studio</strong> and the <strong>IBM</strong><br />

Migration Toolkit (MTK) teams. He holds a Master’s degree in computer science from<br />

Cali<strong>for</strong>nia State University, Fresno. Hardik also does Continuing Engineering <strong>for</strong> the core<br />

components of <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong>, where he analyzes and provides solutions <strong>for</strong> customer
