Welcome to the 2015 season at Sabattis Adventure Camp.
Located within the beautiful Adirondack Park in Long Lake NY, Sabattis is
surrounded by a plethora of mountains, hiking trails, streams and ponds. Here,
your son will have the opportunity to experience Scouting as it was meant to be
when Sir Robert Baden-Powell started the Scouting movement in England in 1907.
Outdoor activity is the most appealing feature of the Scouting program that draws
boys from all walks of life to experience activities not available in the city. Sabattis
offers hiking, swimming, boating, Scoutcraft, COPE, shooting sports, archery,
canoeing, and high adventure treks among the many weekly activities.
Scouting here at Sabattis is tailored to meet both the needs and desires of Scouts
and their families. Scouts ‘grow’ in maturity here at Sabattis as they learn the
teamwork necessary for patrol cooking each meal. This experience will prepare
the Scout for his troop campouts through the coming year. It also helps develop a
community within the Scouts as they learn to work together with their fellow
Scouts.
This guide has been prepared so that you and your Scouts will get the most out of
the time spent here at Sabattis. Please take a few minutes to acquaint yourselves
with how the camp operates and what it can provide to Scouts, and their leaders
who spend a part of their summer here.
Yours in Scouting,
