DIO manages the MOD’s property<br />
infrastructure and ensures strategic<br />
management of the Defence estate as<br />
a whole, optimising investment and<br />
providing the best support possible to the<br />
military.<br />
Secretariat maintains the long-term<br />
strategy for the estate and develops policy<br />
on estate management issues. It is the<br />
policy lead for sustainable estate.<br />
Safety, Environment<br />
and Engineering<br />
The SEE provides direct support to Project<br />
& Programme Delivery and Service Delivery<br />
by providing a front line support, a safety<br />
assurance function, technical oversight<br />
to ensure MOD/DIO discharges its duties<br />
and corporate responsibilities under the<br />
Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974,<br />
Environment Protection Act, other relevant<br />
legislations and Regulatory Articles; and<br />
also by providing the DIO intelligent client<br />
interface with industry.<br />
Environment and<br />
Planning Support (EPS)<br />
The EPS team is the focal point for all<br />
your environmental and planning needs<br />
and enquiries across the Defence Estate.<br />
It includes professional ecological,<br />
archaeological and planning suppor t<br />
to the MOD. Specialists and experts<br />
maintain communications and liaison with<br />
a large number of statutory and nongovernmental<br />
organisations.<br />
