The City’s location on the Welland Ship Canal, which contains a loading dock in the City, offers a facility for the warehousing of goods to be loaded and unloaded from ships utilizing the St. Lawrence Seaway. Additionally, Welland is linked to ocean ports in Japan, Korea, Europe and North and South America by the St. Lawrence Seaway. The location of the City of Welland between the Great Lakes of Erie and Ontario allows for Welland to be in one of Canada’s mildest regions. The annual climate for the City of Welland is moderated by the Great Lakes; mild without extremes in temperature or precipitation throughout the year.
