Garden: Osterley House Gardens<br />
To prepare for the weekend I made several trips to Osterley and read up<br />
on the history of the place. I ordered a T shirt that exclaimed ‘JOHN<br />
Osterley Gardens Resident Poet 2015. Talk to me.’<br />
I set up shop in the entrance of The Garden House and advertised three<br />
readings a day. I used a book of garden poems to get people to select a page<br />
at random then choose a line that appealed to them. This gave me a lot of<br />
friendly encounters and when the lines had been collated, two interesting<br />
poems. The weather was poor and audiences were generally small but all<br />
those I spoke to or read to seemed to enjoy the experience.<br />
