Road To California<br />

With more than 39,000 attendees and 200 classes and events,<br />

Road to California is the West Coast’s premier Quilting and<br />

Fiber Artist Showcase and Conference. Between <strong>Jan</strong>uary 18th<br />

and <strong>Jan</strong>uary 24th attendees have the opportunity to view over 1000<br />

quilts and fiber art on display and visit more than 500 merchant booths<br />

in between classes and events teaching them to perfect the oldest traditions<br />

and learn the newest trends.<br />

Although solely on the West Coast, Road to California has an international<br />

audience with art from Australia, Canada, Germany, Israel, New<br />

Zealand, Japan and the Netherlands as well as a representation from 37<br />

States in the U.S. With so many influences around the world there is<br />

something for everyone on the Road to California.<br />

While some of Road’s artwork are single pieces submitted by individual<br />

artists, they will also have exhibits for viewing from groups of fiber artists<br />

from around the world. Some exhibits are: a celebration of the 100th<br />

Anniversary of the National Park Service, a tiny quilt challenge featuring<br />

quilts no larger than 15” by 15”, and a very out of the box “Urban Graffiti”<br />

exhibit depicting the varied ways graffiti is part of our everyday lives<br />

in the 21st Century.<br />

Road will have merchants from around the world ready and willing to<br />

teach you the finer details about the world of fiber art. This event happens<br />

only once a year and is surely something you won’t want to miss.<br />

Classes start <strong>Jan</strong>uary 18th. Exhibits are open <strong>Jan</strong>. 21 – 23, 9am -6pm and<br />

<strong>Jan</strong>. 24, 10am – 3:30pm<br />
