Socializing: Digital Zombies?
There is no doubt that social
media is a major technological
development teens from
all around the world constantly
use every single day.
The real question here would
be; whether they’re beneficial
or useful at all.
A certain number of people
(which consists
mostly of
the elderly/
parents) state
that the daily
use of Social
Media is really
harmful for
teenagers’
both brains
and personality.
The lack of
true safety
and trust is
something
that has already
shown signs of existence,
since there have been
many incidents caused by
them. Also, hacking and advertising
are complex issues
which have proved to be rather
dangerous, as more and
more people become victims
because of them.
But that’s not what the Social
Media was created and used
for, right? Or was it? I personally
use facebook and twitter
just to mess around and chat
with my friends, spending
hardly 1-2 hours of my free
time. By communicating and
chatting, you will meet lots of
interesting and fascinating
people of different nationalities,
with various beliefs,
traits and personalities.
It is also proved by many
studies that the constant use
of social media is really a useful
thing. One can easily learn
things and get much smarter
only through talking with people
or just generally surfing
the net.
To conclude; the Net is
a powerful tool, that
can be used however
we want it to. The majority
of people just
use Social Media for
fun, but there is really
a lot of potential. The
experiences and
knowledge that one
can gain through
them, is simply worth
the risk.
