Ollie Brown – 21 year old Sittingbourne-based
midfielder who can also play centre-back. Started
his career within the Millwall Academy before spells
with Whitstable and then Sittingbourne at the start
of the 2014/15 season, although he moved to Maidstone
United in February 2015. Ollie played for Faversham
pre-season, but returned to Sittingbourne
as the campaign got under way, from whom he now
joins the Rams at the season’s mid-point.
Stephen Butcher - 21 year old Dover-born defender
who progressed from the Gills’ development
squad, with 1st team appearances in both the
League and FA Cup in 2013/14. ‘Butch’ joined the
Rams for a short-loan back in January 2014, and
although he joined Maidstone that summer when
released by the Gills, he re-joined the Rams on a
permanent basis last season. Started 2015/16 at
Hythe but has now returned to Southwood for the
rest of the campaign.
Luke Girt – 21 year old central midfielder who
joined Sittingbourne from Sheppey United nearly 5
years ago, and signed for Whitstable last season,
from whom he joins the Rams for 2015/16.
Ollie Gray - 24 year old defender Moved to Sittingbourne
during 2012/13 but returned to the Rams
in February 2014. Joined Whitstable for 2014/15,
and re-signed for them this season, but has now
returned to Ramsgate again.
Joe Kane – 26 year old defensive-midfielder who
joins the Rams after two seasons with Whitstable,
having joined them from Herne Bay and also previously
with Lordswood.
Tom Loynes – 23 year old winger who joins from
Whitstable, having played for Sittingbourne in
2012/13 and 2013/14. Represented Kent at Youth
Level and also had spells at Gillingham & Dover.
Jake MacKenzie – 21 year old wing-back who joins
the Rams from Whitstable, where he spent two seasons
after being released by Gillingham. Represented
Kent at youth level having started his career
with Charlton.
Ian Pulman – 30 year old local striker who was at
Chelsea as a youngster and then played for Margate
in the conference, with a number of loans.
Joined the Rams for a spell in 2005/06 before playing
in the US and then professionally in Australia.
Returned to Southwood for 2015/16.
Aaron Quain - 26 year old attacking midfielder who
made his 1st team debut for Margate in the 2007
Boxing Day derby with the Rams, and remained at
Hartsdown until 2009/10. Signed for the Rams in
2011 staying for the start of 2012/13. Has since
played for Merstham but returned to the Rams last
season, with a short spell at Croydon at the start of
this campaign.
Kane Rowland – 19 year old striker who worked
his way through the Rams’ youth system and breaking
into the 1st team in 2013/14. Tried his luck at
Whitstable Town last season, alongside Ian Pulman,
where he scored 15 goals for their 1st XI.
Signed for Town at the start of 2015/16, but has
now returned home to Southwood.
Kane Smith – 19 year old defender who graduated
from the Dover Academy having also played for
Kent, and joined the Rams last season when Margate’s
U21s folded. Mainstay of the Rams’ U21s
and also broke into the 1st XI, winning Man of the
Match in the Kent Senior Cup semi-final against
Charlton Athletic.
Joe Taylor – 24 year old striker who joined Margate’s
1st team in 2008/09, but joined the Rams
near the end of the 2009/10 season. Started
2012/13 at Southwood joined Sittingbourne, where
after 2 successful seasons (including a trial in Sweden)
signed for Farnborough for 2014/15. Joined
Folkestone after being released, with a loan with
the Rams before joining Tonbridge, but returned to
Southwood on loan with the Rams for the run-in
and scored the goal that confirmed Ryman status
this season. Has re-joined the Rams on contract for
the new campaign.
Nick Treadwell – 25 year old midfielder who
worked his way through the Rams’ youth and Reserves
to a 1st team debut in 2007 at Staines in the
Ryman Premier. Remained a mainstay in the Reserves
at Southwood, before moving to Hartsdown
and then joining Sittingbourne in 2012/13, where he
became vice-captain. Returned to Southwood after
New Year 2014 but moved to re-join the Ward
brothers at Whitstable for 2014/15 where he was
voted Player of the Season, and was made Club
Captain for 2015/16, but returned to the Rams before
the end of August.
Luke Watkins – 26 year old ‘keeper who joins the
Rams from Whitstable, whose 1st team he broke
into last season having joined from Rochester United.
Luke Wheatley - 24 year old defender who came
on a month’s loan from neighbours Margate in October
2009 but was recalled at the end of the initial
term. Re-joined the Rams on a permanent basis 2
months before the end of that season and has
grown in stature as part of the Rams’ defence
since. suffered 2 broken legs, the first in Oct 2012
and the second in September 2013. Returned to
the first team in November. .
