We are busy gearing up for the local show circuit
again this year. I showed my older Shagya mare,
Sapphire (*Oman/*Szikra by Saphiro) last year along
with a quarter horse mare. I did show my 6-yearold
*Shandor gelding, Shandor’s Surya, or Sunny
(*Shandor/Sapphire by *Oman) in the last show of
the season, but have concentrated on his training all
winter and spring.
Sunny and I did a 3-month caveletti clinic once a
week , which ended in March, working on Sunny’s
suspension and extension. He is really coming
along nicely as a dressage horse as we take weekly
dressage lessons.
My Janos mare, Carmen Daal, (Janos/Shandor’s Charisma
by *Shandor) is 5 years old and recently had
60 days training under saddle. She is a wonderful,
intense mare, but is too much horse for me as I turn
60 this year. So, she is for sale.
The winter looks like it is finally subsiding in Montana,
so I am looking forward to riding Sapphire and
Sunny on the trails as well as showing this year.
