How to book<br />
This course provides an overview of basic core<br />
anatomy, core stability and pilates principles. The<br />
practical element of the course will teach delegates<br />
the basic pilates exercises and the practical<br />
application of the discussed pilates principles. The<br />
course will close by discussing the benefits of core<br />
stability training in fitness, sports conditioning, injury<br />
prevention and rehabilitation.<br />
• The history and fundamental principles of core<br />
stability and pilates<br />
• The anatomy of the trunk and its role in postural<br />
control<br />
• Practical elements of delivering basic pilates<br />
exercises and exercise modifications.<br />
• A brief evidence based overview of the use of<br />
Pilates/core stability exercises in fitness, sports<br />
performance, postural awareness, injury prevention<br />
and rehabilitation.<br />
• The progression of a pilates instructor within the fitness<br />
industry i.e. sports conditioning, personal training, GP<br />
referral and level 4 exercise in low back pain.<br />
7 hours of CPD<br />
VTCT tutors, fitness professional, teachers, strength and<br />
conditioning coaches, sports therapists and remedial/<br />
sports masseurs.<br />
Sports and fitness tutors, health professionals and<br />
fitness professionals who have a good baseline<br />
knowledge in anatomy and physiology and exercise<br />
principles.<br />
Delegates can undertake the VTCT Level 3 Diploma<br />
in Instructing Mat Based Pilates (QCF). It may also be<br />
used as a refresher for CPD purposes, or to give ideas<br />
on the application of pilates across the fitness and<br />
rehabilitation sector.<br />

Course delivered by Sarah Audsley<br />
Sarah has been working in the fitness industry as a qualified personal<br />
trainer and as a pilates and fitness instructor for six years. Alongside<br />
this, Sarah is a qualified physiotherapist working with sports teams<br />
and in a private practice. Sarah also has a Msc in Clinical Exercise<br />
Physiology, a certificate in education and an assessors award after gaining<br />
experience of delivering vocational courses for the fitness industry.<br />
