Q. Describe your
business and how
you got started.
A. Mr. Romanation
came to this country in
the early 1950’s with
very little money but a
world of knowledge
and skills. He was a
Ukrainian immigrant
who learned watch
making and jewelry in
Europe. He started his
business in 1952.
In the late 1970,s he
was looking to teach
someone his trade. I was the
fortunate one to be in the right
place at the right time. I continued
working for Mr. Romanation for
years, and one day he approached
me about selling his business so he
could retire. The rest is history. We
continued operating at its old
location until 1992 when we
purchased a larger building one
block away at 48 third st., where we
are today.
Q. Are you known for anything
special?
A. Our store is noted for several
things.
a.) we are considered a full service jeweler that does expert
watch, clock and jewelry repair, all on premises
b.) we have unique, quality jewelry at affordable prices
c.) we have one of the largest selections of antique and estate
jewelry in the area
Q. What do you like most about your business?
A. What I like most about my business is putting a smile on a
customers face when they have something custom made or

repaired. Sometimes doing a minor
thing will make someone’s day. I
really enjoy helping a young couple
that is either getting engaged or
picking wedding bands, or a gentleman
searching for that perfect gift for
his wife on her birthday. We go out of
our way to give every customer our
undivided special attention.
Q. What do you feel is your
biggest challenge with your
business?
A. I think the biggest challenge with
my business is trying to get new
customers that have
never been to our store. I
know that once they step
inside and see our large
and unique selection of
jewelry, the courteous
and knowledgeable staff,
they will be a customer
for life.
Q. What do you
want the community
to know
about you?
A. I would like the
community to know that
Romanation Jewelers is a
57 year old business that puts quality, honesty and good service
first and foremost!
