<strong>WAAPA</strong>’s acclaimed percussion ensemble Defying Gravity and<br />
special guests present an enchanting night of music inspired<br />
by the sounds of India and the Middle East, performed outdoors<br />
under the stars. The night opens with a selection of epic Arabian<br />
love songs performed on Persian guitar and percussion by<br />
visiting Iranian musicians Arman Abednia and Iman Sepahsalari,<br />
accompanied by Pippa Lester and Defying Gravity’s Tao Issaro.<br />
To close the show, all the players will come together to perform<br />
the magical new work Karma, composed by Tao Issaro.<br />

a critically acclaimed tour for his new recording of Pictures at an<br />
Exhibition, comes to <strong>WAAPA</strong> for this sublime tribute to Gershwin.<br />
Featuring best-loved works from his chart-topping albums<br />
Gershwin and Me and Gershwin: Take Two, the ARIA<br />
Award‐nominated Tedeschi brings his trademark virtuosity<br />
to a program that includes Gershwin favourites plus other<br />
captivating works from composers such as Debussy, Grainger,<br />
Rachmaninov and Fats Waller.<br />

The musical merrymaking rolls on as the 3rd Year Music<br />
Theatre students sing much-loved show tunes and Broadway<br />

University and <strong>WAAPA</strong> invite you to bring your picnic rug and hamper, relax under the<br />
