In a rare treat for lovers of song, internationally renowned<br />

performers Dame Felicity Lott and Dr Graham Johnson present<br />

a recital in the beautiful surrounds of Government House<br />

Ballroom. This benefit concert will raise funds for the <strong>WAAPA</strong><br />

International Art Song Academy, allowing <strong>WAAPA</strong> to continue<br />

providing world‐class training for young singers and pianists<br />

right here in Perth.<br />

In their forty-year partnership Dame Felicity and Dr Johnson<br />

have established themselves as the foremost English<br />

proponents of art song – join us for a journey through musical<br />

delights both exotic and well loved.<br />

A special celebration of art song, showcasing selected<br />

performers from the <strong>WAAPA</strong> International Art Song Academy,<br />

the Gala Concert is the culmination of this intensive program.<br />

The concert will be introduced and accompanied by the<br />

celebrated English pianist Graham Johnson. The German<br />

Lieder will meet the French Mélodie as singers from around<br />

Australia perform the glorious music of Johannes Brahms,<br />

Franz Schubert, Gabriel Fauré and more.<br />

of the 25th anniversary of Edith Cowan University in 2016, this one-off<br />

concert features students and staff from across all music disciplines.<br />

Come and be wowed by the <strong>WAAPA</strong> Gospel Choir, Faith Court Orchestra,<br />

<strong>WAAPA</strong> Opera Chorus, Defying Gravity Percussion Ensemble, Jazz and<br />

Contemporary Music ensembles and much, much more!<br />

From St Mark’s Basilica in Venice, to the dance halls of Tin Pan<br />

Alley in 1920’s New York City, join the <strong>WAAPA</strong> Wind and Brass<br />

students as they explore some well-known and hidden jewels<br />

of ensemble repertoire. Including selections from Gabrieli’s<br />

masterwork Sacrae Symphoniae and some of Gershwin’s<br />

catchiest numbers, this concert has something for everyone!<br />
