What we know: Ind<strong>on</strong>esia joined the Scaling Up Nutriti<strong>on</strong> (SUN)<br />

Movement in 2011.<br />

What this article adds: Joining the SUN Movement has strengthened<br />

political and policy commitment to nutriti<strong>on</strong> across multiple sectors in<br />

Ind<strong>on</strong>esia. The existing Strategic Policies and Acti<strong>on</strong> Plan <strong>on</strong> Food and<br />

Nutriti<strong>on</strong> has aligned with the SUN Comm<strong>on</strong> Results Framework, with<br />

proactive advocacy and engagement across multiple ministries. Costing the<br />

nutriti<strong>on</strong>-<strong>sensitive</strong> and nutriti<strong>on</strong>-specific comp<strong>on</strong>ents of nutriti<strong>on</strong> plans is<br />

well underway, albeit with some challenges. SUN-inspired networks and<br />

working groups (specific to Ind<strong>on</strong>esian needs) have been developed. While<br />

Ind<strong>on</strong>esia remains firmly committed to scaling up nutriti<strong>on</strong>, challenges to<br />

putting plans into acti<strong>on</strong> include nati<strong>on</strong>al c<strong>on</strong>straints in food producti<strong>on</strong><br />

and variety; emerging double burden of malnutriti<strong>on</strong>; maintaining interest<br />

and securing commitment of stakeholders; regi<strong>on</strong>al capacity (related to<br />

decentralisati<strong>on</strong>) and availability of resources.<br />

Acti<strong>on</strong> Plan <strong>on</strong> Food and Nutriti<strong>on</strong> (RANPG),<br />

joined the global SUN Movement with a letter<br />

with its multi-sectoral approach, is in line with<br />

RPJMN 2015-2019 and is being finalised. For<br />

Comm<strong>on</strong> Results Framework (CRF). In the<br />

KS-RAPG, the First 1,000 Days of Life policies<br />

to formulate a SUN Policy Framework to create of the First 1,000 Days of Life Movement, which<br />

and programmes are included as a priority area<br />

the political and policy commitment. e resulting<br />

policy framework includes objectives 2013. Presidential Decree No. 42/2013 was<br />
