WHAT HAS CHANGED FOR THE WOMEN
Antonina Kurilenko, Cooperative “Dobrobut Andriivky
”Firstly I was afraid to take responsibility and become a leader of a
cooperative because I had just opened my own family farm not so long
before that. It was scary for me to have two businesses at the same time.
But I was chosen as a leader of the cooperative through the secret ballot
voting procedure. I am very happy to be leading the cooperative, after all
women are more involved on the farm than men in Ukraine.”
SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT
Women farmers have become
a driving force for change in the
professionalzation and expansion of
small holder dairy farming in Ukraine.
WOMEN AS LEADERS
women, women have gained respect
and recognition in their communities.
