6. What is the funniest/weirdest thing that has happened to you whilst doing this sport
professionally?
Oh there are sooo many stories to tell! I cannot just pin down one!
7. Have you ever had a serious injury from this sport?
Yes. This year I broke my leg in the Philippines. It was a tough break and right before a
race. Being in The Philippines, I did not receive proper medical attention for a bit after
the initial injury. I had to hop around for a couple days without crutches or a cast. It was
set incorrectly once I made it to a hospital in the city. Luckily, the initial injury sustained
proved to be on the more minimal side and once I made it home to LA it was all dandy and
took only a couple weeks to heal before I was back on my board in my local hills.
8. Who is your real life hero and why?
I don’t really have any heroes, per-say. What I look at most in people is how they enjoy
their lives while experiencing their passions. My favorite humans are the ones that have
a raw smile, extended from ear to ear, due to who they are around of what they are doing.
It is quite easy to find that with skating, as it brings out passion in anyone who keeps
at it. I look up to anyone who is enjoying their time on this planet, creating and radiating
love.
9. Do you have a favorite comic book or film hero and why?
I do not follow comics, TV, or film closely enough.
10. What do you think about extreme and more unusual sports getting their own world
championships like the Olympics?
I think it would be phenomenal. I also think it is crucial. Without the proper media and
exposure, some sports cease to expand and encourage new involvement. With proper
competition and media, the sports can and will flourish. Once the world is more aware
of a sport more newcomers will jump on board, the community will expand, safety will be
more widely influenced, and happiness levels will increase. It is such an amazing feat to
overcome fear and fall in love with something you never thought possible.
