REFUND POLICY 

(This refund policy DOES NOT include Trips, Afterschool or Summer Day Camp) 

Refund of fees and charges paid for the participation in recreational 

activities shall be made under the following conditions: 

CANCELLATION OF ACTIVITY BY THE DEPARTMENT 

Persons registered for a program which is cancelled by the 

department shall receive a full refund of fees, or a fee credit for a 

future program, whichever the registrant prefers. 

PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION DUE TO ILLNESS OR INJURY 

Persons canceling their registration due to circumstances such as 

illness or injury, which prohibits participation in the registered 

activity, shall receive a full refund of fees or a fee credit for a future 

program, whichever the registrant prefers. Fee refunds shall be 

prorated from the start of the program to account for lapse of time 

and classes attended. Participant has 60 days from time the 

program begins to request a refund. 

PARTICIPANT CANCELLATIONS 

Persons canceling their registration prior to the registration 

deadline shall receive a full refund of fees or a fee credit for a 

future program, whichever the registrant prefers. Canceling after the 

registration deadline the registrant will receive a refund minus a $10 

service charge. Participant has 60 days from time the program 

begins to request a refund.

TOURNAMENTS 

Entry fees for team and individual participation in leagues and 

tournaments are not refundable or transferable after the schedule is 

prepared.

ROCKINGHAM ROPERS 

Here’s your chance to expand upon the basic jump rope skills 

learned in elementary school and to perform for family and friends 

at the end of the last class of each section. Open to any middle 

school student in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. Taught by 

Natalie Fioretto, senior at James Madison University and performer/ 

competitor in the sport of jump rope for 15 years. Program 

promotes teamwork, physical fitness and having fun! Suggested 

attire is athletic clothes and gym shoes. Please bring a jump rope if 

you have one, if not one will be provided for you. Although you may 

want to purchase one to practice at home on your own.

JUMP MOVES UNLIMITED WORKSHOP 

The 2nd Annual Jump Rope workshop directed by Natalie Fioretto at 

James Madison University. Come out for an all-day clinic to learn 

jump rope skills from some of the best jumpers and coaches. A 

Chance to perform for family and friends, and see staff perform at 

end of the day. T-shirt and lunch voucher included. Suggested attire 

is athletic clothes and gym shoes. Prior to the workshop each 

participant must complete a registration form/waiver in addition to

PARENT CHILD MINI GOLF OPEN 

The game is easy, the course is challenging but the time spent 

together is the real prize. Come out to Mulligans Golf for a fun filled 

day of mini golf, Mulligan’s newly renovated professional miniature 

golf course is top of the line. Pairing should consist of the adult and 

one child over the age of 6 years. When you have completed your 

round, enjoy a hot dog, chips and beverage on the outdoor patio. A

Come out and participate in the RCPR Track and Field Games. This 

free event is for boys and girls ages 8-13. Age groups will be 8/9, 

10/11, and 12/13. Participants can sign up for two track and one 

field event or two field and one track event. Field events will be from 

5:00 to 5:45pm with track events starting at 6:00pm. Registration

THE GREAT ANT RACE 

Sometimes it’s the biggest ant and sometimes it’s the smallest ant… 

You never know which ant is the fastest. Think you can find the 

fastest ant in the valley? Participants are allowed to enter only one 

ant in the race. Each ant will be tested individually and timed in the 

competition circle. Ant owners are allowed to encourage their ant 

along but cannot touch the ant once the timer has started. It may 

just be all about technique. The owner of the fastest ant wins! 

Participants must bring a canned good to participate; all received 

goods will be donated locally. The winner with the fastest ant will

INTRODUCTION TO CONVERSATIONAL 

SPANISH 

This is an introductory Spanish course for English speaking students 

with little or no Spanish background. The emphasis in this course will 

be on communication and will be taught using a variety of

usage and vocabulary are very important to excel in speaking, 

writing and listening is a very important part in the learning process

MOTHER-DAUGHTER TEEN DATING SAFETY

HEALING HERBS, WEEDS & WILDFLOWERS 

Want to try your hand at making natural remedies for what ails you? 

This workshop starts with an informative talk about native plants 

and their historical uses for health issues of today. Then, we will visit 

the herb beds, the fields and the woods to gather some of the plants 

we have discussed. Back at the studio, while the herbs are drying, 

you will learn how to make an herbal tincture or poultice, then put 

that knowledge to work creating your own powerful herbal remedy.

ME & YOU FONDUE 

Fondue is back big time! Roll up your sleeves and get ready to 

explore this versatile cooking technique. You will learn how to make

LINE DANCING FUNDAMENTALS 

A “Line Dance” is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence 

of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or 

rows, all facing either each other or in the same direction, and 

executing the steps at the same time. Line dancing is practiced and 

learned in country-western dance bars, social clubs, dance clubs and 

ballrooms. Participants will learn to line dance in sync with one
