REFUND POLICY<br />
(This refund policy DOES NOT include Trips, Afterschool or Summer Day Camp)<br />
Refund of fees and charges paid for the participation in recreational<br />
activities shall be made under the following conditions:<br />
CANCELLATION OF ACTIVITY BY THE DEPARTMENT<br />
Persons registered for a program which is cancelled by the<br />
department shall receive a full refund of fees, or a fee credit for a<br />
future program, whichever the registrant prefers.<br />
PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION DUE TO ILLNESS OR INJURY<br />
Persons canceling their registration due to circumstances such as<br />
illness or injury, which prohibits participation in the registered<br />
activity, shall receive a full refund of fees or a fee credit for a future<br />
program, whichever the registrant prefers. Fee refunds shall be<br />
prorated from the start of the program to account for lapse of time<br />
and classes attended. Participant has 60 days from time the<br />
program begins to request a refund.<br />
PARTICIPANT CANCELLATIONS<br />
Persons canceling their registration prior to the registration<br />
deadline shall receive a full refund of fees or a fee credit for a<br />

registration deadline the registrant will receive a refund minus a $10<br />

ROCKINGHAM ROPERS<br />
Here’s your chance to expand upon the basic jump rope skills<br />
learned in elementary school and to perform for family and friends<br />
at the end of the last class of each section. Open to any middle<br />
school student in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. Taught by<br />
Natalie Fioretto, senior at James Madison University and performer/<br />
competitor in the sport of jump rope for 15 years. Program<br />
promotes teamwork, physical fitness and having fun! Suggested<br />
attire is athletic clothes and gym shoes. Please bring a jump rope if<br />
you have one, if not one will be provided for you. Although you may<br />
want to purchase one to practice at home on your own.<br />

The 2nd Annual Jump Rope workshop directed by Natalie Fioretto at<br />
James Madison University. Come out for an all-day clinic to learn<br />
jump rope skills from some of the best jumpers and coaches. A<br />
Chance to perform for family and friends, and see staff perform at<br />

THE GREAT ANT RACE<br />
Sometimes it’s the biggest ant and sometimes it’s the smallest ant…<br />
You never know which ant is the fastest. Think you can find the<br />
fastest ant in the valley? Participants are allowed to enter only one<br />
ant in the race. Each ant will be tested individually and timed in the<br />
competition circle. Ant owners are allowed to encourage their ant<br />
along but cannot touch the ant once the timer has started. It may<br />
just be all about technique. The owner of the fastest ant wins!<br />

This workshop starts with an informative talk about native plants<br />
and their historical uses for health issues of today. Then, we will visit<br />
the herb beds, the fields and the woods to gather some of the plants<br />
we have discussed. Back at the studio, while the herbs are drying,<br />
you will learn how to make an herbal tincture or poultice, then put<br />
that knowledge to work creating your own powerful herbal remedy.<br />

the space(s). If no waiting list exists or those on<br />
the waiting list no longer want to participate in the<br />
trip, it will be the responsibility of the participant<br />
to resell their space(s) on the trip. In many cases,<br />
the department must make pre-purchases;<br />
therefore, this refund policy is not flexible.<br />
