Tin Can Rocket Stove - Start
by assembling a variety of tin cans.
Preferably one soup can, one coffee or
paint can, and one large tomato sauce can.
Take the paint/coffee can and trace the
diameter of the soup can at the bottom.
As clean as you can, cut the hole at the
bottom of the large can. Repeat this with
the medium sized can. Cut the bottom off
the soup can and push the can through
the hole you’ve just cut in your large and
medium sized cans with the medium can
sitting in the center of the large can. Fill
all around the sauce can with sand or
gravel. Place tinder in the soup can and
ignite. Flames should exit the top of the
sauce can. Continue stoking fire as needed.
Place a grill on top of the can and your
rocket stove is ready to cook. TIP: You
can buy empty, unused paint cans at your
local paint store and they come with a lid
which helps keep your stove contained for
transportation.
