Hello
Robin
Meet Robin – Nottingham Children’s Hospital‘s brand new logo! The logo, which is designed to help raise
the profile of the Children’s Hospital and help with fundraising, was designed by local graphic design
artist Geoff Hill, whose wife Abby is a nurse in our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
It was funded by Nottingham Hospitals
Charity and launched with a fun-packed
day in and around QMC, with cakes,
mugs, bags and pens with the Robin
logo on all selling like hotcakes.
We will be continuing to sell branded
merchandise from the charity’s office in
the Children’s Outpatients Department,
at QMC, and Robin will be making
an appearance at fundraising events
throughout the summer. Keep your eyes
peeled.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Fancy doing something fun for Charity?
A calm place for
Head & Neck
cancer patients
NUH Charity has raised £12,000 for
a project to provide a beautiful and
serene courtyard garden at the Ear,
Nose and Throat (ENT) unit, for the
benefit of inpatients, outpatients
and staff.
The ENT Department at QMC sees
more than 3,500 patients every year. A
small but significant number of these
patients will receive the devastating
diagnosis that they have a cancer of the
mouth, nose or throat. Some patients
may find out that their cancer has
returned, some others that they are in
remission, and some may be given the
welcome news that their cancer has
been successfully treated. Treatment
for head and neck cancer can take a
long time and can involve repeated
stays in hospital.
With your help we will be able to
transform an unused outdoor space
into a fully accessible garden, including
water features and sensory areas
to aid relaxation and stimulation,
where patients and families can find a
peaceful, reflective space.
Thank you for donors and supporters
for making this possible.
