5.0301 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT<br />
5.0302 PURPOSE<br />
A Joint Action Ordinance of the Board of Supervisors of Marinette County<br />
providing for a county-joint action Emergency Government Organization was<br />
amended by said County Board on the 21 st day of September 2010. A copy of<br />
said County ordinance is attached hereto, and made a part hereof, by<br />
reference, and is hereby ratified and accepted by the City of Marinette, County<br />
of Marinette.<br />
This ratification and acceptance of the Joint Action Ordinance shall<br />
constitute a Mutual Agreement between the City of Marinette and the<br />
County of Marinette as provided by Section 6.07 of said Joint Action<br />
Ordinance.<br />
The County Emergency Management Director appointed and employed by the<br />
Marinette County Board as provided in the referred to Ordinance is hereby<br />
designated and appointed Emergency Management Director for the City of<br />
Marinette, subject to the conditions and provisions as set for the in the<br />
Wisconsin Statutes and the Marinette County Joint Action Ordinance.<br />
For the purposes of this attached ordinance, the City of Marinette determines<br />
that the Municipal Deputy Management Director set forth in Sec. 6.07(2)<br />
shall be the Chief of Police for the City of Marinette or his/her designed.<br />

To prepare City of Marinette to cope with emergencies resulting from a disaster,<br />
or the imminent threat of a disaster, it is necessary to establish protocol for<br />
emergency management, conferring upon the City of Marinette Common Council<br />
and others specified; the powers and duties provided by this chapter.<br />
Unless otherwise specified by law, the role of any City department or agency,<br />
including the Emergency Management Department, in an emergency declared<br />
under this chapter, is to assist local units of government and local law<br />
enforcement agencies in responding to a disaster or the imminent threat of a<br />
disaster.<br />
