The stories of street children and their unique inspiration, told by Arnoud Raskin,
founder of Mobile School and StreetwiZe. In his keynote, Arnoud explains how 20
years of working with street children got him hooked on the possibilities to create a
positive impact.
A transforming world is by many considered to be a breakneck threat. However, by
adopting street skills the change we observe will give rise to new opportunities. The
new laws of the land are positive focus, agility & resilience, cooperative competition
and proactive creativity. During this keynote, Arnoud dives into these street skills
and explains how you can make them your own.
The keynote includes great video footage and real-life stories from the street. Participants
will be energised and inspired with new ideas on how to reinvent their corporate
culture and create socially responsible value and impact.
Arnoud Raskin is an internationally recognised social entrepreneur and an Ashoka
Global Fellow. He lectures at various international conferences, sharing his experience
and insights on leadership transformation and conscious business models. Arnoud
Raskin is also author of ‘StreetwiZe, what managers can learn from street kids’,
a book about the future of business and social impact and the continuing journey of
Mobile School and StreetwiZe.
The acronym VUCA stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity. You
cannot read a contemporary management book or this from military vocabulary derived
word pops up, indicating that our modern economical world is more about chaos
than ever.
We at StreetwiZe do believe that in order to deal with this chaotic environment you
need four ‘street skills’, inspired by the strength of street children who do live in a
chaotic environment.
The first is positive focus, the ability to detect and grasp opportunities. Agility and
resilience is the second set of street skills and elaborates on our capabilities to deal
with difficulties. As a third skill, we deducted pro-active creativity as a prerequisite
for success. And last but not least we expand our street skills model with cooperative
competition or the ability to cooperate in group balancing between personal and
group needs.
The StreetwiZe Story is a 70-minute inspirational talk illustrating the importance of
the street skills and triggering some ideas on how to use these in your personal and
professional life.
