The four street skills (for a win on all fronts)
In order to flourish in the new normal, we at StreetwiZe believe four skills have become
indispensable.
Street children rely on these skills for their daily survival struggle. Their stories and
experiences have inspired us to design our street skills model.
The first skill is positive focus, the ability to detect and grasp these opportunities
whenever and wherever they arise. And this even in troubled times. Positive focus
is also referred to as the choice for change. A positive focus enables you to translate
problems into opportunities.
The second skill, agility and resilience, determines your ability to overcome problems.
Our agility makes us act and respond quickly and effectively. Our resilience
helps us to anticipate challenges and quickly recover from failure.
Our street skills model is the backbone of all we do. Our complete offering for talent
and leadership development and all of our interventions revolve around a backbone
of four street skills.
Your people and organisation must excel at integrating the fundamentals. Doing so
will strengthen your backbone in order to successfully overcome new challenges and
meet novel expectations, now and in the future.
The third skill is proactive creativity. Creative wins are always based on authenticity
and new thinking. Proactive creativity is about the ability to unlearn and break patterns
and habits.
The fourth skill is cooperative competition. The new normal is about forging new alliances.
Therefore we have to know when to cooperate and when to compete, and ...
when to stop doing that.
