Compared with 2012, the largest improvements are registered in Kosice (73%, +18),
Ostrava (84%, +12), Braga (67%, +12), Zagreb (85%, +11) and Bratislava (53%,
+10). On the other hand, satisfaction fell sharply in Istanbul (49%, -12), Palermo (31%,
-9) and Irakleio (30%, -8).
When comparing the results of the ‘city’ with those of the overall ‘Greater city’, it can be
observed that respondents from the city of Athina are less likely than those from Greater
Athens to be satisfied with the green spaces such as parks and gardens (30% compared
with 44%). The same pattern also applies for the city of Lisboa and Greater Lisbon (64%
compared with 72%).
As the graph below indicates, there is a fair correlation between satisfaction with green
spaces and overall satisfaction with living in the city, although this is weaker than for
some of the other issues covered by the survey, such as feelings of safety.
