Fiirst opened its doors in July 2015. Situated at the heart of<br />

Norwich, in a grade II listed building, its history stretches<br />

back to the 16th century. First licensed in 1898 and named<br />

after the Norfolk & Norwich Triennial Music Festival. e<br />

pub now has an onsite microbrewery.<br />

called the Waggon & Horses pub (it<br />

is located on the corner of Waggon and Horses Lane) the<br />

pub was renamed the Louis Marchesi in 1976 in honour of<br />

the founder of the Round Table movement. It closed in<br />

2004 to reopen as Take 5 Cafe & Bar.<br />

Robert Allen was the first licensee<br />

in 1887. e pub was completely destroyed by enemy<br />

action in June 1942, but by July 1943 was carrying on<br />

trading in a temporary building known as the Chicken<br />

House. It was rebuilt in 1955.<br />

Unthank family who owned land throughout the area. e<br />

first licensee was Jeremiah Etheridge Watering (11 August<br />

1891) who served for 10 years. e pub originally had a<br />

bowling green and stables. Today the pub is owned by Nick<br />

and Briony De’Ath who have been there over 20 years.<br />

Built in 1786, the first known<br />

licensee was George Kew in 1841.<br />

e Vine has long been the smallest pub in Norwich. From<br />

1846-1860 it was known as the Albert Tavern (named after<br />

Prince Albert) but when Prince Albert died in 1861 the<br />

pub reverted to the Vine. Aey Allen runs the pub offering<br />

ai cuisine both in the bar and the upstairs restaurant.<br />

William Haylett Roe in 1841. e cellar<br />

is believed to be part of Norwich’s famous ‘Underground<br />

Tunnel Network’. Norwich’s best blues, jazz and rock ‘n’<br />

roll venue, there is live music several times a week. e pub<br />

has a replica Wurlitzer juke box.<br />
