Magnetic secondary glazing kit comprising white steel<br />

tape and white backed TESA magnetic tape: Magnetik<br />

(www.magnetik.co.uk); 2 rolls will be enough for 4-5<br />

average windows.<br />

Made-to-measure Perspex cast clear sheeting: The<br />

Plastic Shop (www.theplasticshop.co.uk); 3mm or 4mm<br />

thick according to how rigid and efficient you want the<br />

secondary glazing (in this case study 3mm panes were<br />

used where there were two sections, 4mm panes were<br />

used for single large panes).<br />

You will also need a litre bottle of isopropyl alcohol or<br />

Halfords glass cleaner to clean all the surfaces prior to<br />

applying any of the sticky tapes.<br />

stuck to the top of the front sash holds the top edge<br />

of the bottom pane and the bottom edge of the top<br />

pane. Left: this window, being removed, has only one<br />
