Lemongrass in Thai is called Ta-krai. It is enjoyed as
a drink all over Asia after meals for pure refreshment. This
grass-like herb has a sharp, fresh and lemony aroma; it has
long been a key ingredient in Thai cooking. As a medicinal
herb, it was traditionally used to cure skin complaints and
headaches, and was burnt to kill germs and repel insects.
It is also an ingredient in Thai herbal compresses for its
soothing, invigorating and antiseptic properties, while the
aroma relieves stress and soothes hangovers.
