Former Kingites host fundraiser for Kuselo CYCC

FORMER Kingites Thile and
Ravin Gooranah who now
reside in East London and
own the Irana restaurant
hosted a fundraiser for Kuselo
CYCC last
Saturday.'Following an article
in the media about three
weeks ago regarding how
children in a child and youth
care centre need support,
our children wanted to do
something.
'We as parents always motivate
our children to care for
those less fortunate than
themselves so we encouraged
them to come up with
an idea on how we as a family
can support such children,'
said Ravin.
'We selected Kuselo CYCC
as the beneficiary of our fundraiser
as we are originally
'It as decided our three children
would place a food stall
outside our restaurant and a
percentage of the takings
would go towards the centre.
'They also made a money tin
for donations available to the
public as well as a R5.00
raffle for a R100 meal voucher
at our restaurant.
'We aim to do more fundraising
for the centre and request
that the public to open their
hearts to these children said,'
said Thile.Ravin said said the
day was a huge success.
'But we hope that more and
more people will support our
fundraising drive for charity
as we aim to host such a
fundraiser twice a month with
the proceeds going to Kuselo
CYCC as well as the community
children who partake in
their programmes.
'We encourage and appeal to
the public to support our
drive, anyone in East London
who wishes to support Kuselo
CYCC can visit our restaurant
opposite Berea Spar in

CYCC as the beneficiary of
their fundraising initiative to
raise funds and awareness
for the children who benefit
from our programmes.

by everyone on Saturday by
the Gooranah family and
their friends made us feel so
welcome and loved, it was
such a honor to be part of the
fundraiser.
'A special thank you to the
Gooranah children for
organising the event, they
had so much fun selling their
items to the public and
informing them of our
Centre...you guys were the
stars of the day, thank you so
much', concluded Amanda.
