that nation for which they will<br />

to Abraham, the people<br />

grew and multiplied in Egypt, o<br />

18 until there rose a different<br />

king over Egypt, who did not<br />

know of Joseph. p 19 This one<br />

used statecraft against our race q<br />

andwrongfullyforcedthefathers<br />

to expose their infants, that they<br />

might not be preserved alive. r<br />

20 In that particular time Moses<br />

was born, s and he was divinely<br />

beautiful. t And he was nursed<br />

three months in his father’s<br />

home. 21 But when he was exposed,<br />

the daughter of Pharaoh<br />

picked him up and brought him<br />

up as her own son. u 22 Consequently<br />

Moses was instructed in<br />

all the wisdom v of the Egyptians.<br />

In fact, he was powerful in his<br />

words w and deeds.<br />

23 “Now when the time of his<br />

fortieth year was being fulfilled,<br />

it came into his heart to make<br />

an inspection of his brothers, the
