ENDURO WEAPON O N E T r i c k Y Z 2 5 0 X With the glut of 2017 models on their way, there is very little in the 2016 ranges that have not been tested or featured in this here quality publication. One of our mates, Wayne Philips bought a 2016 YZ250X (Two Stroke) and threw some money at it… Three or four months ago we did an extensive test on this new model from the Yamaha stable – and we’ll quote from the story that we ran there – “One of the most unassuming bikes on the market”. After riding Waynes one, we’ll stand by what we said, this relative newcomer is a peach of a bike. Wayne is related to the BCR Arrow racing team, headed up by some experienced names like Mark Garland and Brian Capper. Garland was one of the first in the country to race the new YZ and he has spent quite a bit of time making the bike better suited to enduro. Wayne is forty-something and trying to keep up with his racing teenage son, so he was looking for a bike that is easy to ride – and in our opinion, he got it right! This YZ has gone under the knife.
