SCHOOL ORGANISATION / SCHOOL DAY Meet Our Staff Headteacher Mrs Knowles Assistant Headteachers Mrs Cox—is the Curriculum and Assessment Co-Ordinator. Mrs Rowe—is the Co-Ordinator for Behaviour Management throughout the school. She is also the Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENCO). Foundation 2 Teachers Mrs Gleave is the Foundation stage leader, along with Mrs Charles, Miss Williamson and Miss McGivern Year 1 Teachers Mrs Eddy is the year-band leader, she is also our R.E. co-ordinator. Miss Mitchell is our DT co-ordinator. Mrs Jennings & Miss Ronald (job share), Year 2 Teachers Mrs Holleron is our PHSE Co-ordinator. Miss Short is our Maths Co-ordinator. Mrs Appleton ( Part-time ) is our PMFL co-ordinator. Year 6 Teachers Mrs Varey is also our Science Co-ordintaor. Mrs Neal Miss Russell Support Staff We have an excellent team of well qualified and experienced staff who support our teachers’ and children in the classroom. All our Key Stage 1 classes have support members of staff, they are :- Mrs Bastow, Mrs Cave, Mrs Duggan, Mrs Hocker, Mrs Jude, Miss Risnes, Mrs Simmons, Mrs Spence, Mrs Tuffs and Miss Woodhouse. All Key Stage 2 year bands have the support of at least one member of staff, they are :- Mrs Flynn, Mrs Hughes, Mrs Carrigan, Ms Renshaw, Miss Shawcross and Mr Thomson. Office Staff Mrs deValve is our school secretary. Mrs Baxter deals with our dinner money and school fund. Mrs Gordon is our Business Manager. Mrs Graves is our Finance Assistant. Mrs Brizell is our Home School Liaison Officer. Year 3 Teachers Miss Moses / Mrs Bannon (job share) Miss Brougham Mrs Williams is our SEAL Co-ordinator. Year 4 Teachers Mr Hawkins is also our PE Co-ordinator. Miss Phillips / Mrs Foley (job share) Year 5 Teachers Mrs Owen Miss McKeown Premises Staff Mr Legge is our Caretaker, he looks after the premises during working hours. Mrs Reeves is our Senior Cleaner, who, together with her assistants, Mrs Carrigan , Miss Fitch, Mrs Henderson and Mrs Kinsella are responsible for keeping our school clean and tidy. Midday Supervisors Mrs Williams is our Senior Midday Supervisor at lunch times. She is ably assisted by a team of Midday Assistants : , Mrs Coe, Mrs Cook, Miss Fitch, Mrs Jolley Mrs Hartland, Miss Ferrier, Mrs Lancaster, Miss McNamara, Mrs Piercy, Ms Stakes, Mrs Sutton and Miss Wylde.
SCHOOL ORGANISATION / SCHOOL DAY The School Day Children are expected to come to school at the following times :- Key Stage 1—23.5 hours teaching week Foundation2, Year 1, Year 2 ( 4-7 year olds) Morning Session Playtime Afternoon Session Playtime 8.48am—12.00pm 10.15am—10.30am 1.00pm—3.15pm 2.00pm—2.15pm Key Stage 2—24.75 hours teaching week Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6 ( 7– 11 year olds) Morning Session Playtime ( Y3&Y4 ) Playtime ( Y5&Y6 ) Afternoon Session 8.48am—12.15pm 10.40am—10.55am 11.00am—11.15am 1.15pm—3.15pm The school can only make itself responsible for children 10 minutes before the start of the morning session and 10 minutes at the end of the day, unless taking part in an organised club. Absence, Holidays & Day Time Appointments If your child is too ill to come to school please telephone us to let us know and send a note with your child on his/her return. Absences without reasons have to be recorded as unauthorised. We are obliged to report the number of authorised and unauthorised absences during the school year. It is essential for parents to supply the school with their home address, telephone number and mobile phone number if applicable. Two other contact numbers, place of work or close relatives/friends in case they need to be contacted in an emergency or if a child is sick would be most helpful. Please remember to inform us of any changes during the school year. Holidays During Term Time From 1 September 2013 new DfE regulations came into force regarding leave of absence for children from school. The current law does not give any entitlement to parents to take their children on holiday during term time. Any application for leave must be in exceptional circumstances and the Headteacher must be satisfied that the circumstances warrant granting of leave. Please be aware an unauthorised absence to go on holiday is highly likely to incur a penalty charge of £60 per child per parent. School finishes at 3.15pm and we would ask you to collect your child promptly. Although we will always care for the children, they become anxious if they have not been picked up when their friends have all gone. Your child needs to know that you will always be there when school finishes. Punctuality The school day begins at 8.48am and we ask that children arrive promptly to ensure a positive start to their learning. Please ensure your child is not late for school. Children who arrive late are asked to report to the school office on arrival. Any late attendance is recorded on the end of year school Annual Report to Parents.
