Children pose, hear
stories during Yoga

The Malibu Library on
Wednesday, Aug. 3, filled
with downward dogs, warriors
and trees. But it’s not
what you’re thinking.
The Malibu Library presented
a Yoga Story Time
event with yoga instructor
Natalie Backman and
children’s librarian Lauren
Kratz.
Stories read were enacted
with yoga moves, leading
the children and their parents
to follow poses like
“cobra,” “down dog” and
“mountain pose.” The
interactive program “gives
kids an opportunity to express
themselves in yoga
poses in a fun and creative
way,” Backman said during
the program. “It incorporates
their imagination instead
of just the alignment
of their poses.”
“Good Night Yoga” by
Mariam Gates and “You
are a Lion” by Taeeun Yoo
were among the stories told
Wednesady. A crown-coloring
art activity followed
the class.
