tough as a Miele product test. Before Miele

must undergo extreme testing in our test

Hose test 

Miele suction hoses are twisted, flexed and 

stretched with an 11 lb. weight 120,000 

times in the laboratory. You can pull your

Motor Endurance Test 

We demand top performance from our 

vacuum cleaners from the first day to the 

last. Miele motors must demonstrate their 

quality during an intense endurance test 

which includes constantly switching them 

on and off. 

Threshold Test 

In real life, Miele vacuum cleaners are 

subjected to many knocks and obstacles. 

During the threshold test, they have to 

endure this strain 16,500 times without 

interruption. 

Cable Rewind Test 

Miele supply leads are unwound and 

rewound again more than 10,000 times in 

our test apparatus. Only then are we

Floorhead Test: 

A Miele floorhead must master over 1,200 

miles of cleaning various types of flooring

Miele vacuum cleaner handles are loaded 

with 11 lb.weights and then raised and

Miele canister vacuum cleaners are equipped with three high-quality, 

standard attachments: Upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle and 

dusting brush with soft synthetic or natural bristles. They are 

integrated or on a VarioClip. 

Chrome Trim 

Apart from the foot switches, the suction hose connector and the 

vent grill also have a high-grade chrome finish. The chrome surface 

adds a touch of class to the design of the Complete C3. 

Cleaning Performance 

High wattage alone does not guarantee a good vacuum cleaner. 

With Miele, a number of design characteristics interact in a most 

efficient manner. The vacuum cleaner’s tight seal and perfect air flow 

ensure strong suction at the floorhead. For low-wattage vacuum 

cleaners Miele has developed particularly efficient floorheads which

The park system on either side of the Complete C3 Brilliant is

illuminated for 30 seconds after switching off. 

Operating Radius 

Lead, suction tube and suction hose provide a particularly large 

operating radius. This is useful for cleaning big rooms without having 

to change sockets so often. 

Park System 

The floor head is simply hooked onto the rear of the vacuum cleaner, 

leaving the suction wand in a secure position ready for use 

again. The Complete C3 Brilliant motor is switched off automatically 

in this instance.

Double Park System 

Suction wand and hose can be securely attached to either side of 

the vacuum while upright. This allows the vacuum cleaner to be 

transported easily, stored with minimum space requirements, and 

operated comfortably by left-handed and right-handed users alike.

A dependable navigation system is essential for robotic vacuum cleaners in order to clean 

floors reliably without missing any spots. With Smart Navigation, Miele has achieved a

Glossary For The Miele Scout RX1 Red Robot Vacuum 


Dust and dirt tend to settle into the corners of a room, and it is in 

these areas that many robotic vacuum cleaners do not perform well. 

With the Scout RX1's dependable Navigation System, it finds its way 

to remote corners and edges- where its extra long side brushes 

capture all the dirt. 


The AirClean Filter ensures that the vacuumed dust remains where it 

belongs in the Scout RX1's dust bin. The two stage AirClean system 

filters dust particles from the air particularly thoroughly while 

vacuuming. 

Auto Mode 

In Auto Mode, the Scout RX1 cleans all accessible rooms completely 

on its own. It leaves its charging station, cleans the desired floor 

areas and returns to its charging station once finished. If the battery 

charge is not sufficient for all areas, the Scout RX1 interrupts the 

cleaning process in order to charge its batteries at its charging 

station. After approx. 120 minutes, it resumes the cleaning process 

by returning to the exact location where it previously stopped 

cleaning. 

Corner Mode 

The most dust collects in corners and edges where there is the least 

air movement. Luckily, the Scout RX1 has its own Corner Mode in 

which it cleans all areas in Auto Mode then revisits the corners and 

edges of a room a second time. 

Flat Design 

With its compact, slim body the Scout RX1 moves through your 

home with dexterity. It even goes under low furniture and other 

difficult-to-reach areas with ease. 


Seven optical sensors at the front of the Scout RX1 recognize 

furniture and other obstacles in its path at all times. The Scout RX1 

approaches these objects cautiously in order to clean the floor 

directly in front of them. An additional 3 sensors underneath the 

vacuum prevent the Scout RX1 from falling down stairs. 


Thanks to a powerful lithium-ion rechargeable battery, the Scout 

RX1 operates up to 120 minutes with a single battery charge. In this 

time it can clean up to approx. 1615 sq. ft.. Even after 300 full 

charging cycles, the battery still generates the same amount of 

power as it did when it was new. 

Remote Control 

With the Remote Control, you can operate the Scout RX1 yourself. 

With simple commands, the vacuum cleaner can be guided directly 

to certain areas. 

Smart Navigation 

Smart Navigation combines three innovative features: a Ceiling 

Camera ensuring reliable navigation, Furniture Protection Technology 

and advanced Corner Cleaning. 

Spot Mode 

Crumbs under the breakfast table? Dog hair in front of the sofa? The 

Scout RX1 takes care of these little mishaps for you. Simply activate 

Spot Mode and the Scout RX1 cleans a targeted area of 6 sq. ft. 

Timer 

You can program the floor cleaning times individually. For instance, 

you can schedule the vacuum to clean when you are not even at 

home. The vacuum returns to its charging station on its own to 

recharge the battery. 

Touch User Interface 

Operating the Miele robot vacuum cleaner is so easy. You can select 

your desired cleaning program with only two touches on the clearly 

laid out touch display. Alternatively, you can use the Remote Control 

supplied as standard. 

From Floor To Carpet 

Thanks to its powerful motor and its non-slip wheels, the Scout RX1 

masters the transition from smooth floors to carpet without any 

problem. Even crossing over thresholds does not pose a 

problem. You can be sure that the Miele robot vacuum cleaner will 

follow its route steadily- to effectively clean your home. 


The Scout RX1 tackles dirt and dust in three ways. The two rotating 

Side brushes pull the dirt from corners and edges under the vacuum 

cleaner. The roller brush picks up the larger particles of dirt and 

dust, while the powerful DC motor sucks up the fine dust. 

Turbo Mode 

For quick cleaning in between sessions, the Scout RX1 offers Turbo 

Mode. The Scout RX1 moves in its systematic lines, but further 

apart to save time. Turbo Mode completes in half the time it takes to 

complete a round of Auto Mode.
